Work 'n Play Weekend

10 people attended our first work/play weekend outing, and we had a great time.  Friday night was misty and windy but we just kept throwing wood on the fire and telling stories until past midnight.  Seven of us worked Saturday on the Karkaghne, slicing out four hillside cuts.  Later in the day a few of us went hiking down the the Council Bluff - Trace Creek connector to look at beaver dams and a spring (and we found a morel patch along the way).

Sunday was the 'play day' for most people, but we did get a crew of four to put in a creek crossing and another hillside cut towards the bottom of the hollow south of Highway 32.  After Friday's rain, it cleared up for the weekend and the weather was great.

We found just enough morels for a little snack.

Dave B. took this picture of a hoghead snake pretending it was a cobra.

A view of the recent prescribed burn near the Enough boat launch on the Council Bluff trail.

Thanks, everyone!
