Chainsaw Certification

Trail maintenance often involves cutting away trees that have fallen on the tread, and for safety reasons we can't just have just anyone dragging the saw out of the garage and severing an artery in the middle of the forest.  For this reason, we teamed up with the US Forest Service to hold Class A Sawyer Certification classes for OTA volunteers.  Below are a few pictures from the graduating class of spring 2003.
