The subsection begins in a pine grove above Henderson Creek,
then follows the North side of the creek before crossing.
There is a nice view of a beaver damn complex in the pine grove.
There is potential for a dam pool at the crossing site which may
need occasional maintenance to avoid wet crossings. After
crossing the creek we follow the opposite side for a short
distance before cutting perpendicular through an
open area frequented by ATVs.
As the trail approaches the next hillside, it makes a quick
turn by a small but scenic spring, then begins the ascent to FS
2367. There are three switchbacks on this ascent, one at the
edge of a clear-cut on the South side of the hill.
After crossing the ridge, the trail follows the West side of FS
2367 before beginning the descent to CR 79. We have tried to
keep the road out of view, but can't get too low on the hillside
else we run the trail through numerous gullies. We managed
to make the descent with only one switchback but pushed the grade
to 11-12% in short areas to accomplish this. Each area of
steep grade is followed by a leveling off to 5-7%, and during
actual trail construction we will include a few dips to slow down
the mountain bike traffic.
This subsection ends with a sharp turn to cross the road.
We will try to smooth the curve to an acceptable radius during
construction.
