Hwy A/Ottery Creek hill blocked

Postby Ed Kindley » Sun Jan 22, 2012 10:12 pm

Note submitted 1/22 by a hiker:
South Trace is not safe or passable for equestrians. The climb up from Ottery Creek is blocked by down trees at the spot where the retaining timbers were. The timbers have moved. The trail is essentially blocked from peter cave hollow. There are others blocking trail between peter cave hollow and 32.- some step overs and and some 14's +. noticed one large leaner in a dercho bucked area. Can't remember the FS road numbers, all of it was off of 2363
that connects to the first road on the left south of 32. (Ed)

Scotty/USFS has intervened, and the "tread gap" which was a danger to
equestrian traffic has been repaired; also downed hillside trees were
sawed. Open for traffic. Thanks, Scotty!
