Ozark Trail 75 and 100 point to point Endurance Ride

Postby paulsidio » Sat Dec 18, 2010 7:29 pm

Well just to prove that some people just don't know when to quit, we are trying another Equestrian Endurance Ride on the Ozark Trail. This one will be a point to point ride starting at the 13 mile mark near Bass River Resort and continuing south to Brushy Creek Lodge at the 88 mile mark. There the 75 mile riders will finish while the 100 mile riders continue on to the 113 mile mark at the Hwy P/72 trail head. We are doing this ride April 23rd, 2011. There is a 15 rider limit. We would welcome any assistance and volunteers for this ride. I hope to start working on winter damage on the trail by late March or early April. There may possibly be a tree or two that fall down over the winter and block the trail some place in the 100 miles we will cover :-)

This past fall, we had a small turnout for the 100, and they didn't fare well. This trail is too pretty and scenic to not have rides on it.

Thanks

We will be doing Trail work on the weekends of March 19/20, April 2/3,, and April 8/9 . Starting at Bass River and working our way south towards Brushy Creek and then on to the Hwy 72/Hwy PP Trailhead. We hope to cover 20-30 miles per weekend. Will be on horses trimming and limb lopping. If you want to come play, email me or call my cell phone paul@ucozark.com (417) 818-0210
