Berryman Trail Conditions?

Postby Honch » Wed Aug 08, 2012 10:08 am

I'm planning a ride on 8/11 of the Berryman Loop. Plan to drop water at the Brazil Creek campground and then drive to the Berryman campground for a 22+ mile day. Any reports on the condition of the trail and best ways to navigate the reroutes are appreciated. From what I understand, the steep downhill into Brazil Creek has been routed around since I last rode it in the fall of last year

Trail is in good shape given the time of year. The downhills are very loose with some sizable rocks in the middle of them. But that is what makes it Berryman right? A little growth into the trail but nothing that requires a dismount. Several large trees down on the trail. I think 10 - 11 for the entire loop from the campground. Was able to move 2 of them, the rest will require a large chain saw. The good news is that most of them are within the first 4 and last 6 miles of the Berryman loop, starting from the campground, traveling CCW.
