FKT

So, I'm not in a position to really try and do this, but I was wondering if the Fastest Known Time on the OT is still 9 days (https://backpackinglight.com/winters_tone_sights_sounds_moods_ozark_trail/) or if someone has bested that in the last five years? The board over at Fastest Known Times (http://fastestknowntime.proboards.com/thread/490/ozark-trail-mo) doesn't seem to know about a faster one, but I thought maybe someone here might! It's not all about speed, but it is interesting to know what folks who move quickly can accomplish, if only to measure my own slower pace against it.

Great article! Don't have the answers, but this may get more hikers involved.

I am not aware of a faster time either. I do know that some Ultra runners have the thru route FKT on their radar. It won't be long before an ultra runner knocks it off in a couple days.

I don't know if you guys are familiar with John Zahorian, but his videos are pretty awesome. As a triple crown holder, he's familiar with heavy miles, and his recent unsupported FKT on the Colorado Trail (https://youtu.be/Vk6CrWJdRto) is pretty awesome if you've got time. His ultralite mentality and set up is making me reconsider literally everything in my bag.
