We had a nice overnight hike on the Victory Section of the trail. Didn't see any other hikers or horsemen on the trail. Definitely not one of the more scenic sections but still a nice trek.

Here is a link to the full report with some pictures: http://mikevaughnsadventures.blogspot.com/2015/01/ozark-trail-victory-section-117-182015.html

Don't think I posted a link to an earlier hike in December to the Irish Wilderness, here it is: http://mikevaughnsadventures.blogspot.com/2014/12/irish-wilderness-126-714.html

I enjoyed your trip report on the Irish wilderness area. The homestead looks completely different in Winter. I lost the trail in the exact spot you did, my only problem was I lost my maps on the previous days hike. Had no idea where I was. Ended up turning around and going back the way I came in. Found the darn maps laying on the trail on my way back out. You are absolutely correct about the trail being hard to follow. I will be trying it again this spring with a GPS I got for Christmas. Cant wait.
