Courtois Section

Yesterday was a nice day for a hike! Not too hot, not too cold. The trail was dry enough for hiking, only soggy in a couple spots. The Courtois was, of course, a little chilly at the crossing. Only one other person on the trail, on a bike. Couple floaters on the creek. Trail conditions were good, no work for the sawyers that I could see. :)

Brrr...cold wet feet for a few minutes I bet. The upper Courtois is a personal favorite and for sure the best place to break in a new hiker/overnighter. Treat them to a float trip on day two.

Yes, very much so - but dried them off, swapped out for dry socks, and the toes were nice and toasty again.

Stephan (sp?) Bass, who drove me back up to Ozark Outdoors, said that a lot of people like to do the hike from OO to Bass', then rent a canoe to float back to OO. That sounds like a great deal of fun to me. I'm hoping to give that a go this year.
