Trip Report - Marble Creek Section 1-24-2010

Postby Danno » Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:16 pm

Date: January 24, 2010
Trail: East half of Marble Creek Section
Time in: 9:20 am
Time out: 1:30 pm
Weather: 45-55 degrees and cloudy. VERY wet due to heavy rains

Notes:

I saw no other hikers or horses. The trail was pretty good - someone did a LOT of work to clear all the downed trees. Apparently they remarked the trail too because there were all new markers and it was quite easy to follow. Without the markers all the 4wd trails would have made things difficult. We did the East half of the trail, up to the glade.

Many thanks to those who opened back up this very pretty trail.

This is a beautiful section of the OT, and very well maintained and marked. Photos can be found http://picasaweb.google.com/drwilliams3 ... rbleCreek#

Hi Danno:
Thanks for the trail report. The first (eastern) 2+ miles of trail were sawed by Americorps,
and all the rest of the Marble Creek/Crane Lake trail was sawed by our OT sawyers on an all
day outing on 12/5. Please continue to alert us to trail conditions that need sawyer work at
sawyer@ozarktrail.com The StL Adventure Group have adopted the Marble Creek segment
for routine maintenance, and will be glad to hear you found it in good condition at this time.
