Onondaga to Bass Resort

We had great weather for a beautiful hike from Onondaga to Bass . River Resort,
We had reservations for a shuttle from Bass to the trail head, the Bass folks were awesome with over 400 bike racers on site for the BT EPIC bike race they were extremely nice and we left on time. The trail was in great shape with some fall colors still hanging on and temperatures right around 60F. We came across what we believe to be Bear Scat just before the old Scotia Iron works spur trail (pretty cool). The Courtois was only around 10-12" deep and not all that cold. We filtered water and hiked on enjoying the day. When we got to the section of the trail that was open to bikes is when we become part of a bike race! The Bikers were friendly and courteous! We set up camp at the Great Bluff overlook and enjoyed watching the bikers maneuver around a very difficult section for them especially after they had already ridden over 50 miles it had a hard left hand switchback turn that had a root that took the front tire right out from under them and just after that two ledges with drops offs of around two feet(better them than me)! We enjoyed a nice evening even though it was somewhat cloudy the sunset was amazing. The next morning with temps around 45F we experienced even more wonderful views with fog hanging in the valley below. There is something about camping that makes the coffee and oatmeal even that much better! We leisurely packed up and finished , the 4.5 miles out to Bass River Resort where the truck was parked. Great trip thanks to the trail volunteers and the bikers, we had packed trail clear of leaves.

Nice photos - I love waking up to fog in the morning while camping.
