Ed can you post the latest Sawyer data on this page? Lots of people buzz in and out of the site. Might be good to help keep info current.

Like say I got an email that everything I mentioned has been clean up. That could mean the post from Jan 4 regarding Middlefork DD/32 to Barton Fen is clear. However only sawyers would know that since they are the only people to receive your weekly updates. No reason we can't share the info on here.

On Monday we sawed the Middle Fork from the Trace Creek / Middle Fork Intersection down past Hwy 32 to CR-72. We also sawed from North DD TH to Hwy 32 on Trace Creek. All clear except for some root ball repair that is needed on the switchback south of TC / MF intersection. ToddH

On Mon. 2/1 sawyer Smith with swampers Graham and Fuehring sawed
the Middle Fork AAT-segments MF4a,b,5; so that segment of the
trail is clear as of that date.

Also, today 6 sawyers (Smith,Moll,Meyer,Schwab, Rippelmeyer, Kindley) successfully
completed their sawyer recertifications.
The next recert. session is set for Sat. Feb. 13th; contact Matt Atnip, OTA Sawyer
Coordinator, if you haven't yet registered.

Snow, snow and more snow didn't keep a hearty group of sawyers and swampers from tackling some of the damage from last May's storm to the Taum Sauk section of the OT. On February 13th, volunteers met at the Boy Scout camping area on top of Taum Sauk Mtn. along with staff from JSI and Brian Merkel from the NFS/Potosi. Four sawyers (Atnip, Brennan, Lamb, and
Reese) were also re-certified on February 13th. Even though progress was slow, the sawyers tackled several technical trees and learned some new tricks of the trade concerning wedges.
FOR THOSE NEW FOLKS WISHING TO BE INITIALLY CERTIFIED, TRAINING IS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 20-21; CONTACT
OUR OTA COORDINATOR, MATT ATNIP FOR DETAILS.
